The Turks and Caicos Reef Fund has also been a leader in monitoring and treating stony coral tissue loss disease (SCTLD).

There is a rich culture that can be seen throughout the music, cuisine and arts. The islands themselves are full of tropical flowers, white sand beaches and turquoise waters.
Kayak Through the Mangroves in Providenciales
For an eco-focused adventure, head to Mangrove Cay, an area that is almost entirely surrounded by red mangroves. This nature reserve is a haven for marine life and different bird species. While kayaking, visitors may be able to spot juvenile lemon sharks, nurse sharks, small turtles, stingrays, starfish and a variety of juvenile fish. Bird enthusiasts will also enjoy kayaking through this great ecosystem because of the variety of birds that can be found here.

The mothers and calves are frequently spotted, especially during winter months. With chances to see these majestic creatures both above and below water, head to Grand Turk for this wonderful opportunity.
Long Cay in South Caicos
Visitors can head to Long Cay to enjoy crystal-clear waters and white sand beaches. While swimming or snorkeling in the waters, there is a chance to see barracudas, small sharks, turtles, stingrays, eagle rays and more! Long Cay is the perfect peaceful island getaway.
